Match Preview, As We Welcome Carmarthen Town To Park Hall

This coming Saturday (November 9), we welcome Carmarthen Town to Park Hall for the JD Cymru Premier MD14 encounter. The fixture sees The New Saints currently in third place in the league – just one point behind Connah’s Quay Nomads and Barry Town United, who also go head-to-head at the same time – while the Old Gold are rooted at the bottom.

Over the last four games in the top flight, Scott Ruscoe’s side is currently the in-form side, with ten points on the board. On the other hand, during that period, Carmarthen have picked up just one point, courtesy of a 0-0 draw with Aberystwyth Town.

However, current form will count for nothing come the opening whistle on Saturday. Although The New Saints has eight wins while the visitors have yet to secure three points in a game, Ruscoe has called on his players to recognise the challenge that lies ahead and to not lose their focus and concentration, as you can see from the quotes below, taken from the pre-match press conference earlier this week.

“It’s going to be a tough game… Don’t make it any harder than it needs to be… Focus on your job and get the three points…”

The officials for the game are as follows: Cheryl Foster (referee), Ashley Davis and James Sheils (assistant referees) and Nick Pratt (fourth official).

The New Saints will be in the familiar green and white home kit, while the goalkeeper will be wearing all blue.

Kick-off is 2.30 p.m. and if you’re a first-time visitor especially, check out our fans’ guide to Park Hall. You can follow the action via our Twitter account as well as listening to TNS Radio. The link to the latter is on the home page of our website.
