Match Preview, As We Welcome Aberystwyth Town To Park Hall

Following the disappointment of last weekend’s postponed game, due to the heavy snow that fell in the Oswestry area, we encountered a second just four days later. A behind-closed-doors friendly with Salford City was also called off, this time due to a major accident that caused serious delays on the roads around Chester.

This coming Friday (November 15), we’re hoping that all goes smoothly though, as we welcome Aberystwyth Town to Park Hall for JD Cymru Premier MD15.

Although The New Saints is currently in fourth place, the game in hand means that potentially we are second and just one point behind the current leaders, Connah’s Quay Nomads. It’s incredibly tight at the top, as we edge towards the split, which for many is considered the business end of the league.

Aberystwyth Town’s hopes of making the top-six come January were dented, following last weekend’s 5-0 home defeat to Bala Town. Sitting in ninth, the Seasiders are five points behind Cardiff Metropolitan University, who are just the right side of the line as far as the cut is concerned.

On current form, over the last four games, The New Saints leads the way with ten points. Cefn Druids have collected nine, while unbeaten Connah’s Quay Nomads have added eight to their total. Aberystwyth Town have picked up five points during that period.

The officials are as follows: Lee Evans (referee), Jordan Christopher and Andy Harms (assistant referees) and Mark James (fourth).

The New Saints will be in the familiar green and white home kit, with the goalkeeper in all-blue.

Kick-off is 7.45 p.m. and especially if you are a first-time visitor to Park Hall, we have a fans’ guide that you may find useful.
