We’ve scored a total of 36 JD Cymru Premier goals so far in the 2019/2020 season, which means that we lead the way as far as finding the back of the net is concerned. Having played 14 games, that is an average of 2.57 goals per game.
Our first goal of the campaign was scored by Ryan Brobbel. A foul on the edge of the box against Jamie Mullan, saw TNS’ free-kick specialist, Ryan Brobbel, step up to the mark. His kick went over the wall, over the ‘keeper and into the back of the net. It proved to be a crucial goal, as that was all that separated the sides come the final whistle.
Greg Draper is our leading goalscorer, with 10 to his name. Although he hasn’t scored in the last two games, his most recent one was key, as his 56th minute header against Bala Town secured the three points for the reigning champions with a 1-0 win.
Having found the net twice this season, Keston Davies has the honour of not only scoring our first goal goal (in terms of time) when he broke the deadlock after 3 minutes in the recent game against Aberystwyth Town but also our last. That was back in September, when his 90+6 header rescued a point in the game at Cyncoed Campus, as we drew 1-1 with Cardiff Metropolitan University FC.
The most goals in one game was against Aberystwyth Town in August, when we beat the Seasiders 10-1 at Park Avenue. Adam Hughes, who is now on loan with the Cardiganshire side, scored his first and only goal to date for The New Saints, as he made it double-figures. In with the other nine goals was Billy Whitehouse, who bagged his first hat-trick for the visitors.
