It’s a departure from the bread-and-butter of the JD Cymru Premier on Saturday (December 7, 2019), as we host Mold Alexandra in the JD Welsh Cup. As we defend the trophy, this is our first game in the 2019/2020 season, although the visitors from Flintshire have already played three times, entering the competition at the qualifying round two stage.
They have had an impressive run to date though, with an initial home 8-0 victory against Castell Allun Colts followed by an 8-1 on the road in the first round proper at Waterloo Rovers. Prior to the entering the draw that paired them with The New Saints, Mold then registered another big win – again scoring eight – as they defeated Llanrug United 8-1 at Alyn Park.
Mold Alexandra were the lowest ranking north Wales team in the draw, and they play their football in the Welsh National League (Wrexham Area) Premier Division, which is the third tier. They currently sit in seventh place in a sixteen-team league, although with games in hand they have the potential to move into second.
The New Saints will be wearing the home kit of green and white hoops, white shorts and white socks. The goalkeeper will be in all black.
The officials for the game are as follows: Nick Pratt (referee), Laura Griffiths and Nathan Wheatley (assistant referees) and Conor Charlton-Fleming (fourth official).
Kick-off is 2.30 p.m. and if you’re a first-time visitor especially, check out our fans’ guide to Park Hall. You can follow the action via our Twitter account, as well as listening to TNS Radio. The link to the latter is on the home page of our website.
