In the final game before the JD Cymru Premier splits into the Championship Conference (top six) and Play-Off Conference (bottom six), we welcome Connah’s Quay Nomads to Park Hall. Anything other than defeat would ensure that The New Saints goes into Phase 2 as league leaders, whereas currently sitting in second place means that Andy Morrison’s side need a win to be in pole position, as we enter the business end of the season.
Although we have lost four games compared to Nomads’ one, the draw statistic of two and seven respectively means that the reigning champions have a slender lead of just one point at the top.
The league’s leading goalscorers, our sixty-three is considerably more than the thirty-eight times that Connah’s Quay have found the net. However, the tightest defence in the JD Cymru Premier sees the visitors with an impressive fifteen in the goals against column. The New Saints, having conceded a third more, find themselves with a figure of twenty.
Of course, all that will mean nothing on the day, as both sides will be looking to establish themselves from the off, and ultimately take all three points.
