Tomorrow (March 13), we travel to the Oval on MD27 to take on Caernarfon Town in the JD Cymru Premier. We have to go back to last October – the 4th to be precise – when we last played the Cofis.
That was also a Friday evening, and sadly not the result that we wanted, as we recorded our second defeat on the bounce.
The first half-half was an open affair, with both sides creating chances. The Caernarfon ‘keeper, Alex Ramsay, needed to be alert, as he denied Kurtis Byrne on a couple of occasions as well as his fellow Irishman, Dean Ebbe.
We saw the only goal of the game in the second period, as Jamie Breese made no mistake in the penalty area, when he beat Paul Harrison to break the deadlock.
Although Chris Marriott hit the woodwork with five minutes to go, and a Ryan Brobbel free-kick was saved in added time, it just wasn’t to be for The New Saints and it was the home team celebrating come the final whistle.
