THE NEW SAINTS HAVE RECEIVED CONFIRMATION FROM THE FAW THAT ALL DOMESTIC FOOTBALL ACTIVITY HAS BEEN SUSPENDED UNTIL 4th APRIL AT THE EARLIEST DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK.
This means The Saints’ first-team fixtures, starting with tonight’s JD Cymru Premier fixture at Caernarfon Town, Newtown away on 20th March and Bala Town at home on March 28th will no longer go ahead as originally planned.
The FAW has also outlined that the International Challenge Match between Wales ‘C’ and England ‘C’ scheduled for March 24th 2020 has been postponed.
In a statement, the FAW said: “Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Football Association of Wales has taken the decision to suspend all domestic football until Saturday 4th April 2020.
“The intention at this time will be to resume the football schedule depending on the medical advice and conditions from the relevant authorities at that time.
“The FAW is fully aware of the impact this will have on the domestic game but the health and safety of all fans, players, volunteers and stakeholders are of paramount importance.
“The FAW will continue to monitor this situation on a day-by-day basis and will continue to provide updates when appropriate and they will be shared on the FAW’s website: www.faw.cymru”
The club will continue to operate its Academy coaching programme at The Venue, Oswestry as well as its various programmes within the club’s Community Foundation.
Further information will be made available if there are any changes to those programmes.
