Although there won’t be any football played until at least May 2020, we will be taking the opportunity in the meantime to bring you memories of previous games that The New Saints has been involved in.
Kicking us off is a behind-closed-doors friendly against Leicester City, that was played at the English Premier League side’s training ground. As a club we play several such games during the course of a season and we’ve made the trip across country to Belvoir Drive on a couple of occasions.
This particular fixture took place in August 2017 and shortly afterwards, the club announced that they would be leaving the training ground in Leicester, for a new state-of-the-art development north of the city.
Unfortunately, as per the FAW rules on friendly games that are played behind closed doors, we are unable to bring you results. However, suffice to say that we get invited to play clubs of Leicester City’s standard on a regular basis is testimony to the fact that we aren’t there just to make up the numbers.
