As we reported on social media recently, eight players that were out of contract at the end of the 2019/2020 season have since put pen-to-paper on new deals with the club.
The list is as follows: Ben Clark, Dean Ebbe, Blaine Hudson, Jamie Mullan, Danny Redmond, Connor Roberts, Jon Routledge and Simon Spender.
Welsh football legend and Wales U-21 international, Simon Spender, who is beginning a decade of club service, had the following to say:
“I’m happy to sign again, as this is my tenth year at the club, and I’m looking forward to it. I’m also looking forward to getting started again as it’s been a long break!”
At the other end of his career, Ben Clark, who had a successful loan spell at Caernarfon Town last season, expressed identical sentiments:
“I’m buzzing to sign another contract and can’t wait for the new season to get started.”
Manager, Scott Ruscoe, was obviously pleased to secure the signings of key players, as he told us earlier today:
“It has been important for us to re-sign the players who were out of contract and who have been excellent for us, having played a massive part in the success of our football club in recent years.
It’s also important to give the younger players who have come up through the academy and scholarship programme a chance to impress with a one-year contract.”
Ruscoe, who was inducted into the JD Welsh Premier League (as it was then) Hall Of Fame in 2015, while still a TNS FC player, had this to say on future signings:
“We are also in discussions to improve and increase the squad, but we will only get players in who match our beliefs on the pitch, and are good people off it.”
