Weston Rhyn Youth Club Visit Connah’s Quay Nomads

It was a Saturday with a difference for the young people of Weston Rhyn Youth Club, as the group travelled to the Deeside Stadium to watch The New Saints take on Connah’s Quay Nomads:

Fan Engagement Manager, Wayne Greenshields, was responsible for bringing it about and he explains more about the visit below.

“The group boarded the bus met outside Weston Rhyn primary school, where they meet every Thursday evening to enjoy their Youth Club session, and away they went with drum kit and megaphone in hand.

“Once at the stadium, we were welcomed with open arms into the players’ entrance, where we had a who can sing the loudest competition with a local football club from Connah’s Quay. On this occasion, the TNS faithful won – was this a sign of things to come?

“The children were ready and raring to go in their TNS kits and looked fantastic too. After taking their seats in the stand, it didn’t take long for the group to get involved.

“Fans all around the stadium, as well as at home, could hear the children singing throughout the game and we’re hopeful that it played a part in The Saints’ picking up a well deserved 2-0 victory.

“After the game, Jack Bodenham came to greet the group and even stayed for some photographs. It was an amazing day out for the children, and we hope that the Youth Club will join us for more home and away games in the future.”
