On An Extremely Foggy Evening At Park Hall, The New Saints Ladies Began Their Defence Of The Tom Farmer Cup With A Convincing Win

Beginning the 2019/2020 defence of the Tom Farmer Women’s Cup – the flagship Shropshire FA ladies’ competition – with a home tie against Bishops Castle Town Women, Lawrence Wilson’s side made it a comfortable passage into the next round, courtesy of an 18-0 win.

We had to wait until the 11th minute before the deadlock was broken – with a great strike from Taylor Davis – as the side then started to score freely. By the time the referee blew the whistle for half-time, the lead had extended to 9-0. The second period also saw nine goals for the home side.

Scorers: Taylor Davis (3), Katie Doster (3), Kim Bebbington (2), Yasmin Evans (2), Zoe Griffiths (2), Jess Jennings (2), Laura Pennington (2), Lucy Brown (1) and last, but certainly not least, Phoebe Davies (1).

Following the final whistle we interviewed manager, Lawrence Wilson, where we discussed not only the game but TNS Ladies in general. In addition, with both scoring hat-tricks, we did a double-interview with Taylor Davis and Katie Doster.
