Derwen New Saints FC – DNS
The New Saints FC, the reigning Welsh Premier League Champions, have re-established links with Derwen College, one of the UK’s leading independent specialist colleges which offers vocational education and training to young people with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities.
This initiative provides students at the college who currently play organised football with a chance to enhance their skills and opportunities, by playing and representing The Derwen College and The New Saints, in the North Wales Pan Disability Football League.
The Oswestry based club have provided the current college squad with an official first team kit and coaching sessions at Park Hall stadium. The Venue will become the home of the newly named football club, The Derwen New Saints (DNS).
General Manager of The New Saints FC, Ian Williams added: “The club are very excited and proud to re-establish the link with the Derwen. We are sure that the use of our facilities and coaches will help to develop the skills of the students. The link also shows the huge strides we are making in the local community.”
Andrew Harris, Assistant Principal at Derwen added: “We really welcome this initiative and are delighted to have formed this exciting partnership with The New Saints. The students are thrilled with the new kits and the prospect of professional coaching.”
The Derwen New Saints (DNS) will play in the green and white hoops of The New Saints and will be managed by Steve Evans assisted by Steve Davies.
