Leak On Loan – Wales U19 International Moves To Park Hall

Today, subject to international clearance, The New Saints FC completed the loan deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers for Wales U19 international, Ryan Leak. Although born in Burton-upon-Trent in Staffordshire, he qualifies for Wales courtesy of family roots.

Highly thought of at Molineux, the 19-year-old grew up in Chasetown to the north of the West Midlands conurbation. He was nominated for Academy player of the 2015/2016 season, along with Niall Ennis and Connor Ronan, with the latter eventually the one rising to the top of the pile.

He has been a first-choice centre back for Wolves’ U23s Premier League 2 side so far this season, having featured in all three games played to date.

He is a tall, commanding defender and is good in the air. All qualities that caught the eye of TNS manager, Scott Ruscoe: “I’m really pleased to have signed him on loan until the January window. He is a good left-footed player and we’re looking to get him involved as soon as possible.”

Having spoken to Scott Sellars (Wolves U23 manager) early on in the transfer window, I watched him play and enquired regarding a loan deal” the main man at Park Hall continued. “Obviously with Steve Saunders picking up an injury that made it more of a concern for us, needing to bring players in for that area, and with Callum (Roberts) and now Ryan we have done so.”

He comes highly recommended from the coaches at Wolves” concluded Scott, as we take this opportunity to welcome Ryan Leak to The New Saints and the JD Welsh Premier League. He will join the squad in due course and we will be bringing you an interview with him next week.
