A deal has been agreed for Billy Whitehouse to move to County Durham, as he joins Spennymoor Town on loan until the end of the season.
The Moors play their football in the Vanarama National League North, and although they currently sit in ninth place in a league that consists of twenty-two teams, they’re in a healthy position as far a potential play-off place is concerned.
They have been winners of the Northern League on four occasions in recent seasons and followers of the FA Cup may well recall them reaching the first round proper of the competition in 2015/2016. Playing MK Dons, the game in Buckinghamshire saw the Football League side storm into a 3-0 lead within the opening quarter of an hour.
However, the visitors fought back but couldn’t get the extra goal needed, as they exited the competition 3-2.
Prior to departing Park Hall, we spoke to Billy about the move: “I’m looking forward to getting some games in and finishing the season strong. I’m going to miss everyone at TNS from now till the end of the season but I have every confidence that we will once again win the league.”
In addition, our manager, Scott Ruscoe, shared his thoughts: “Billy will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Spennymoor. It will give him game time and the chance to compete in a strong, competitive league, with a team looking for promotion.”
Everyone at The New Saints FC wishes Billy all the very best as he plays out the final months of 2019/2020 in the north-east of England.
