With the 2022/2023 season just around the corner, the Football Association of Wales’ First Instance Body (FIB) have been meeting to assess UEFA and FAW Tier 1 applications for the upcoming campaign.

The licence, which is required should clubs wish to compete at the highest level, takes into account areas such as Club Infrastructure, Personnel, Finance, Legal and Sporting criteria.

Verdicts were announced this afternoon, and The New Saints FC are extremely pleased to announce that we have been successfully awarded both the UEFA and FAW Tier 1 licences.

Today’s decision means that UEFA Champions League football is set to return to Park Hall for the first time since 2019, with The Saints already crowned JD Cymru Premier champions.

Chairman, Mike Harris said: “The club would like to thank Secretary, Jacob Williams, for coordinating all of the relevant information required, alongside the club’s Chief Operating Officer, Ian Williams, and Finance Director, Helen Harris.”

The New Saints FC Women were however, refused an Adran Premier Licence for the 2022/2023 season by the FIB, and now have 10 days in which to submit an appeal.

“We are confident that upon appeal, we will be awarded the licence,” said Club Secretary, Jacob Williams.
