It’s a journey to south Wales this Saturday (November 19) for the JD Cymru Premier league leaders, we we travel to Pen-y-bont (Bridgend).
The MD15 game between Penybont FC and The New Saints FC is a fourth versus first encounter but, although there are just two teams between the sides in the league, the points gap is thirteen.
Rhys Griffiths’ Bont has been beaten just once in their last five league outings but, with two draws they have slipped behind the three teams above them, who have all picked up more points during that period.
The New Saints is on an excellent run of form, with twelve consecutive wins in the league.
With forty-one goals scored and five conceded, Craig Harrison has seen his side score more and concede less than anyone else.
Penybont FC has tasted defeat three times in thirteen games, finding the net on twenty-one occasions and conceding thirteen goals.
Recent form between Saturday’s opponents suggests that it will be closer on the pitch than the table suggests.
The last three encounters in south Wales – in all competitions – have ended with two narrow victories for the visitors (3-2 and 2-1) and a draw (1-1).
The home side will be in all-blue with the goalkeepers in all-yellow.
The New Saints outfield kit will be green and white hooped shirts, green short and white socks that has been worn by the team in recent weeks.
Likewise, the ‘keepers, who will be in all-red.
