A great opener from Ben Clark
Fifteen minutes in and the deadlock was broken, with a super strike from Ben Clark.
Cutting in from the left, he let rip inside the penalty area and the ‘keeper was beaten, as The New Saints took the lead.

Four minutes later and the advantage was doubled
With The New Saints continuing to push forward, the side was rewarded just four minutes on from Ben Clark’s goal, when Ryan Brobbel found the net from close range.
It wasn’t all plain sailing from there on though, and when the Bluebirds pulled one back it was definitely a case of game-on.
Although the final score indicates an easy win, Haverfordwest County weren’t there just to make up the numbers.
The assists
Naturally, the spotlight is on whoever scores the goals, but the assists from yesterday deserve a mention in their own right.
The first two were from Danny Redmond and highlighted how alert he is when on the pitch. We have numerous players who could contend for a Mr. Consistency award and Danny is definitely one of them.
Another is Jon Routledge, who again wore the captain’s armband yesterday in the absence of Chris Marriott. Jon provided the third assist as well, and as with the goals themselves, you can follow the build-ups via the highlights footage.

It’s great to see the striker back from injury and featuring in games again.
He’s now played in the last two, coming off the bench on both occasions and also finding the net twice.
His goal against Caernarfon Town last Tuesday proved to be the winner, while the strike yesterday put the game beyond the reach of the visitors.
The gap at the top increases
Although, as is the case for any team whether at the top or the bottom, it’s all about your own results first and foremost, nevertheless if your rivals can drop points along the way then that’s a bonus.
With second-placed Connah’s Quay Nomads drawing 0-0 against Newtown AFC, it means the gap has been increased to eleven points.
Bala Town sit in third, and with the Lakesiders winning 3-0 the margin there remains fifteen points.
