For the final game of the three in six days, it’s back to Park Hall for the league leaders, as The New Saints welcomes Aberystwyth Town on Friday (September 1).
The JD Cymru Premier MD5 fixture is a top versus bottom encounter, with nine points separating the sides in the table, as well as a goal difference swing of twelve.
The Seasiders, who went all the way to the wire last season in avoiding relegation, find themselves with just one point after four games this time round. That came via a 0-0 draw on the road against fellow strugglers, Newtown AFC.
On the other hand, Craig Harrison’s side leads the way at the top, with a two-points cushion over four teams below them who are all on eight points each.
This week’s midweek fixtures saw both The New Saints and Aberystwyth Town involved in 1-0 games. The former beat Colwyn Bay in north Wales, while the latter suffered a home defeat against Pontypridd United with ex-saint, Keston Davies, finding the net.
The last time the teams met at Park Hall was on December 2, 2022, when The New Saints won 11-0. The JD Cymru Premier fixture saw goals from Adrian Cieslewicz (2), Gwion Dafydd (2), Danny Davies (2), Ryan Brobbel, Ben Clark, Leo Smith, Dan Williams and Adam Wilson.
Bryn Markham-Jones is the appointed referee for Friday’s game and he will be assisted by Lewiss Edwards and Ethan Goatley. Siôn Davies is the fourth official and Edward King the referee observer.
The New Saints will be in green and white hooped shirts, green shorts and socks, while the visitors will be taking to the field in yellow and black shirts, yellow shorts and socks.
The goalkeepers will be in all-blue and all-orange respectively.
Kick-off is 7.45 p.m. and if you can’t make the game in person, you can always follow the action on TNS Radio via our website/Facebook page. Either way, we look forward to your company.
