The New Saints are delighted to announce the signing of forward Dan Barton, who has put pen to paper on deal with the JD Cymru Premier champions.
The 21-year-old arrives at Park Hall from Cambridge United, where he progressed through the club’s academy after joining at the age of eight, before going on to establish himself as a first-team player.
Barton made his English Football League debut against Stockport County in August 2024 and went on to make 20 senior appearances for the U’s across all competitions. During that time, he gained valuable experience within the EFL environment and found the net once, scoring in the EFL Trophy against Bromley.
Barton becomes the third player to join The New Saints in 2026, as Head Coach Craig Harrison continues to strengthen his squad in pursuit of further domestic success.
Speaking after completing his move, Dan Barton said:
“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining The New Saints. It’s a club with a great reputation for success and development, and after speaking with the staff it felt like the right place for me to take the next step.
“Coming through the academy at Cambridge and playing senior football has prepared me well, and I’m excited to get started and help the team however I can.”
Head Coach Craig Harrison was also pleased to get the signing over the line, commenting:
“Dan’s a winger who can operate on either side and he’s had exposure to League One football with Cambridge United, which is important. He’s an exciting ball carrier who wants to take players on, cut in from both the right and the left and get shots away. He fits the profile of a TNS winger perfectly and that’s what attracted us to him in the first place.
“He came in and trained with us for a week to see how he settled in, and he did really well. We’re looking forward to working with him and, all being well, he should be available to make his debut this weekend.”

“Dan is a talented young player who has come through an excellent development pathway at Cambridge United and already has experience of senior football within the EFL. He’s ambitious, hard-working and eager to improve, which are qualities we value highly at this club.
